My father recently had a bad experience when buying his new home. It took him awhile to settle on the property as he had to sell the house that he currently owned. He did everything right - got a pest inspection done early and everything came back okay. But when he moved in he quickly discovered that the house had termites.
Apparently, because it took several months to physical transfer the property into his ownership the termites moved in. Thankfully, the actual cost to repair termite damage wasn't as bad as he originally thought. But it just goes to show that you can't be too careful. If it is taking awhile for you to move in it is always a good bet to get another pest inspection done as you wait.
