I'm not the most handy person around the house, despite the fact that I might think I am at particular times. My father recently had a bad experience when buying his new home. It took him awhile to settle on the property as he had to sell the house that he currently owned. He did everything right - got a pest inspection done early and everything came back okay. But when he moved in he quickly discovered that the house had termites.

Apparently, because it took several months to physical transfer the property into his ownership the termites moved in. Thankfully, the actual cost to repair termite damage wasn't as bad as he originally thought. But it just goes to show that you can't be too careful. Home Vegetable Garden

As our garden begins to take shape I thought it was about time to start investigating a new home vegetable garden. The main reason is that with a new bub on the way I thought it would a great experience for the children to learn how to grow their own vegetables.

A home vegetable garden has a number of benefits. The children learn the discipline and hard work that is required to see a project through to the end and meet their goals. We as a family get to eat great tasting, fresh fruit and vegetables. In fact, much of the food that I've grown at home over the last few years have tasted and looked so much better than the fruit and vegetable that I can buy at the supermarket.

Hardwood Flooring vs Carpet Tiles

Since we bought the new house we've been looking at the floor in disgust. It is an ugly dark green with heaps of stains. This is what happens when you buy an old rental.

Both of us want to replace the flooring but are having a debate about whats best. My partner thinks that carpet tiles would look great but I'm not so sure.

I favor hardwood flooring. It looks better and as I saw on TV last night is least likely to harbor dust mites.

There is wide range of hardwood flooring that you can buy that comes in different colors, looks and designs. The more I investigate the web the more I think I might win this debate.

How to Make a Garden Container

The remodeling of our outdoor garden continues. Only recently have I started to think about making a container garden and a bit of research on the internet caused me to find this guide: how to make a container garden.

I didn't actually realise that there is so much thought and effort required. I just bought a terra-cotta pot and I'm getting excited about how it is going to look. I'll keep you updated.

Floating Candles

Outside in our garden we have a large pot that is filled with water. At recent party we used some Floating Candles and they looked great at night. We also added some on the porch and on the table to add to the effect. The comments were received from our guests means that we will continue to use floating candles for our next party we have.

As we have been recently decorating the babies room we realised that we need some new blinds for our window. There is a light run outside the window and the current blinds there are old and broken so the room fills with light. I did some research and went looking for cheap roman blinds. These types of blinds are the best for our situation and you might find them useful too.
